Audi R8 V10 ECU Tuning

Thursday, 03 September 2009 10:29

Asura Design introduces the 2010 Audi R8 V10.  This is the first V10 5.2L FSI powered Audi R8 to be programmed in North America.  We made 45 horsepower gains on this beast.  LP560-4 owners, watch out for this one.

When the Audi R8 was first introduced in 2007, many Audi-philes felt a more powerful motor might be needed to unlock the true potential of this platform. Fast-forward a few years, and a considerably more powerful R8 is a reality.

Powered by a derivative of a Lamborghini-sourced V10, the latest R8 sends 525 horsepower to all four wheels thanks to a sophisticated quattro all-wheel-drive system. The car was first introduced to the public stateside at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The visual accents that separate the V10 powered R8 from it's V8 sibling are subtle and understated.

More air is fed to the V-10 through larger side vents, which protrude sharply from the side of the body, enhancing the already aggressive stance suggestive of the added power on board. The lower side skirting also get a flare which runs along the wheelbase, adding further visual cues that this is an uber-Audi not to be reckoned with. These subtle cues blend into the refined spirit of the R8 with out taking away from the elegant lines of it's V8 sibling.

Additionally, the standard R8 V10 will include dual oval exhaust tips, larger side air intakes, revised front and rear fascias that draw their lineage from circuit racing and larger brakes to counter the added inertia. The V10 version also sports unique LED headlights and increased downforce from the new intergrated rear diffuser that works in conjunction with the speed sensitive wing to also reduce lift at higher velocities.

Prior to this car's launch, there was speculation that Audi would name the V10-powered R8 the R10 or RS8, but the more appropriate and technical "5.2 FSI" designation was used.  The V10 is a very similar 5.2L FSI powerplant to the one found in the new Lamorghini LP560-4, albeit detuned to 525 horsepower and 390 pound-feet or torque, to keep the R8 out of the Gallardo's territory. But despite being down a bit on grunt, the R8 V10 can still rocket from zero to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 196 mph.  The Asura Design Audi R8 V10 performance software tuning removes the top-speed limiter, increases power output by 45 horsepower, and turns up the exhaust volume.  On the R-tronic equipped vehicles, the shifts points are augmented along with the torque limiters in the transmission.

Mercedes Benz C63 AMG ECU Tuning

Mercedes Benz C63 AMG  ECU Tuning…+80HP gains.

Asura Design’s ECU software tuning for the Mercedes Benz C63 AMG is designed for daily driven cars.  With the +80hp gains, you will have no difficulty surprising an unbeknownst Ferrari F430 driver.

Our ECU tuning has proven itself superior to the competition as well. The result of our tuning allows us to make more power, more safely, than anyone else in the aftermarket-tuning world.  We also recalibrate part throttle tables, not just wide-open throttle.  Each and every tune is custom tailored to your specific vehicle.  Asura Design’s C63 AMG ECU tuning allows consistent RPM shift points (including 1-2), shift points raised in manual mode, significantly reduced delay in the paddle shifters, and decreased torque management which ultimately leads to quicker and firmer shifts.  Our Mercedes Benz C63 AMG tuning also allows for significantly reduced adaptations, revised ignition timing and fuel tables, along with a raised redline rev-limiter.

Due to the restrictive nature of the factory exhaust system, we expect to see even greater horsepower and torque gains once our, currently under development, exhaust system for the Mercedes Benz C63 AMG is released to the general public.  Additionally, we also recommend replacing the factory air filters with drop-in aftermarket replacements.

Helping your car breathe more vociferously will enhance the performance gains from our ECU tuning.  From mild to wild, Asura Design has a tuning solution for your Mercedes Benz C63 AMG that will optimize what the factory engineers have already accomplished so well out of the box.

If you are not local to us, we can program your ECU once removed by even the most novice mechanic with our directions in less than 5 minutes.  Once we receive your ECU, we'll program it and immediately ship it back to you.  If you are a resident of the contiguous USA it's a 3 day process (1 to ship to us, 1 to program, and 1 to return ship). The drop-in filters and re-programmed ECU can be installed together without voiding your warranty, in one hour or less. We will make a video soon showing you how this works. For all the M-enthusiasts you know how important this feature is!  It makes the car more fun to drive. We will work out a package price for the ECU/TCU, It will not be sold individually. All our existing customers are more than welcome to bring their cars in for a special price. 2009 Porsche 997 C2 SDI-3 ECU

Monday, 09 March 2009 16:00

Just to let the Porsche owners know that Porsche have been changing their choice of ECU's for a while now. We programmed a 2009 Porsche 997 C2 a couple of weeks ago and it had a SDI-3 ECU, the only way we could program this ECU was to remove it and bench flash it. All of the new ECU's now use processors.
